Toby Fox’s Undertale is celebrating its 10th anniversary!

This indie sensation has an incredible legacy, with countless fans worldwide and even an appearance in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate!

From fandubs to music to even full-fledged fan games, celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Undertale with DETERMINATION via our guide!

5 Ways to Celebrate Undertale’s 10th Anniversary

Deltarune Lost Media – Both Official and Unofficial!

The fans at Fangamer have stolen our SOUL with their merchandise that has been inspired by some of the greatest games ever made.

As part of an official collaboration, the Spamton Sweepstakes gave Deltarune Chapter 2’s favorite 1997 salesman time to shine.

But that’s not all! Recently discovered in a dark alleyway, Tenna’s TV Training has come to light courtesy of Sight Seeker. While an unofficial Deltarune video, this video is coming straight from your house and has more than 390K views as of this writing.

Needless to say, it’s TV! TIME!

Fan Dubs of Deltarune’s Greatest Moments!

While titles like Deltarune keep the voice acting to a minimum (unless the world is revolving…), a number of professional voice actors have lent their talents to re-dubs of some of the series’ best moments.

Professional Voice Actor Alex Rochon (The Amazing Digital Circus’ Caine) is most certainly a big shot in the space, stepping into the big shoes of Spamton G. Spamton and a number of other roles through multiple dubs.

Alex Rochon even got a number of his professional voice acting friends in on the Deltarune fandubbing action for a trip to the DARK ZONE, including Dawn M. Bennett (as Susie) and Joshua Waters (as Ralsei)!

Deltarune Prophecy Creation Tool!

As it was written, fans can create their own prophecy based off of the style found in Deltarune Chapter 4 with the Deltarune Prophecy Generator tool.

While fans are still unsure what the Sanctuary’s shattered prophecy had to say (we blame Susie), this versatile tool lets fans upload an image, choose their own unique style, and then export their own Deltarune prophecy as either a PNG or GIF file.

Music Collections for both Undertale and Deltarune!

Video game cover band extraordinaire The OneUps recently released an Undertale EP that covers some of the hottest tracks to ever grace the Underground.

Featuring jazz, funk, and lounge arrangements of “Dating Tale,””Undertale the Two of Us,” and “Uwa!! So Temperate,” these arrangements would make event the glamorous Mettaton proud.

For those more attuned to the Dark World, the very talented Trevor Alan Gomes, together with Toby Fox, recently released DELTARUNE Piano Collections, Vol. 1 that covers the best tracks from Deltarune Chapters 1 and 2.

A Full Undertale Fangame – Undertale Yellow!

Finally, a fan-made prequel to Undertale is available in the form of Undertale Yellow!

MasterSwordRemix and his team have created a full-length follow-up to the friendly RPG where nobody has to die by putting the spotlight on the child Clover’s journey in the Underground.

A prequel where DETERMINATION meets JUSTICE, this tale features locales and characters new and old – including our favorite bird brain Martlet!

Our friends at Hey Poor Player also spoke with MasterSwordRemix about Undertale Yellow – learn more with their interview!

If nothing else, 2024 was an interesting year in the gaming space.

While there were a number of…happenings in game development side and countless hot takes (just ask Smith), there was also a lot of good as well.

Whether you loved Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League or couldn’t get enough of Webfishing, 2024 had a little bit of something for all types of gamers.

Smith, Johnny, and Casey are ending the year with Gamers Heroes’ 2024 Game of the Year Awards to give credit where credit’s due. These five titles not only left a lasting impact when all was said and done, they also sparked joy Marie Kondo-style – and that’s what gaming is all about!

Here are Gamers Heroes’ 2024 Game of the Year Awards, in no particular order…

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth

Bringing good luck, warm beaches, and Danny Trejo to the space, SEGA and Ryu ga Gotoku’s Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth started the year out strong.

Players were treated to a story that featured both Ichiban Kasuga and OG protagonist Kazuma Kiryu as they hit up both Japan and Hawaii in what amounted to the meatest adventure in the series to date.

Combat-wise, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth’s “Live Command RPG” Battle System always kept things satisfying, complete with countless classes to explore. That’s not to mention the personality traits that let players go out and truly expore its world.

On that note, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth had a wealth of activities to do. From Dondoko Island island management to pizza delivery Crazy Taxi-style in Crazy Delivery, we truly got lost in its world.

With winter back once more, we eagerly await our next sunny adventure with Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii.

“2024 picks up right where 2023 left off with a banger of a title in Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth. Anyone who likes big, meaty RPGs should give this one a whirl.” – Johnny Hurricane, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth Review

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Dragon’s Dogma II

There are a number of worlds that players can get lost in, but Capcom dared to be different with the hotly-anticipated Dragon’s Dogma II earlier this year – and they delivered.

A true jouney in every sense of the world, Dragon’s Dogma II makes players earn everything and fight for it with all of their might. Convenience is thrown out the window as players fail and struggle.

However, in struggle lies growth, and that’s where Dragon’s Dogma II truly shines. While a slow burn, everything from Dragon’s Dogma II’s pawn system to its persistent stories are some of the most satisfying we have ever experienced.

“Dragon’s Dogma 2 feels like the first proper RPG I’ve played in years. Its world is captivating, filled with stories both told and waiting to be found. This is a must-play for RPG fans who’ve grown tired of the hand-holding nature of modern games and just want to get lost somewhere magical and quite frankly, brutal as hell.” – Blaine Smith, Dragon’s Dogma 2 Review

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Path of Exile 2

Featuring 240 active skill gems and 200 support gems, Grinding Gear Games went big with their action RPG follow-up Path of Exile 2.

This title does everything right as players explore the land of Wraeclast. New to this release are 12 charactger classes (out of a total of 36 Ascendancy Classes), a New Skill Gem System, new items, and a chance to dual-specizlie one’s Passive Skill Tree with a staggering 1,500 skills.

While it came out earlier in December, we just can’t get enough of Path of Exile 2, and will be playing it religiously in the months to come.

Path of Exile 2 is available in Early Access for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Star Wars Outlaws

Star Wars meets open world with the release of Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws.

Following the adventures of Kay Vess and her cute and furry companion Nix, Star Wars Outlaws consistently kept thigns friend with new characters and planets blended into old that just felt good.

While it can be easy to be burnt out with open world titles as of late, we have never felt a Star Wars video game as authentic as Star Wars Outlaws.

On top of that, Star Wars Outlaws is a looker. While we have long since finished the title proper, we are still drawn to fighting stuff in space, for no other reason than it just looks amazing.

“Massive Entertainment created breathtaking environments across the galaxy, delivered a fast-paced combat system true to the scoundrel style, and crafted a story that rivals the modern movies. Star Wars Outlaws is, simply put, the Star Wars game of a generation.” – Blaine Smith, Star Wars Outlaws Review

Star Wars Outlaws is available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

As we said in our review, “Indiana Jones and The Great Circle goes to show that MachineGames has an eye for fortune and glory.”

The storied archaeologist has fallen on hard times in the movie space as of late, but this new Indy outing brought back the excitement we so desperately craved.

Featuirng a first person perspective, combat packs a punch – complete with a whip that can disarm, trip, slap, and distract that makes it an unstoppable force in due time.

As we traveled through Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s world, our trips to the Vatican, Gizeh, and other locales kept us truly immersed with its quests, relics, mysteries, and other spots.

Of course, an adventure as grand as this one needs puzzles, and we greatly appreciated how Indiana Jones and the Great Circle kept us thinking. We wouldn’t have it any other way!

“Indiana Jones and The Great Circle goes to show that MachineGames has an eye for fortune and glory. Not only is this title another great addition to Xbox Game Pass, it’s an absolute must for fans of the infamous Indy.” – Johnny Hurricane, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Review

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is available for the Xbox Series X|S and PC.

2024 might have been the year of the AAAA (just ask Ubisoft about their title Skull and Bones), but the video game indie scene was absolutely thriving.

5 Best Indie Games of 2024 You Must Play

Berserk Boy

Living up to their title, BerserkBoy Games went berserk at the beginning of the year with the excellent platformer Berserk Boy.

Players will slowly amass a number Berserk Orbs to take down Dr. Genos, giving players flame drills, lightning speed, ice kunais, and other feats.

This alone would already be enough to make Berserk Boy stand out, but this platformer expertly weaves these abilities into each stage, encouraging high skill play and replayability.

But that’s not all! Berserk Boy’s also got a killer presentation with excellent spritework and a soundtrack from industry legend Tee Lopes we still listen to on occasion.

“Berserk Boy’s platforming action manages to eclipse its inspiration, leading to an experience that is an absolute must for fans of the genre.” – Casey Scheld, Berserk Boy Review

Berserk Boy is available for the Nintendo Switch and PC.

Webfishing

When everything’s gone sideways, sometimes a back-to-basics approach to game design like the one in the ironically named lamedeveloper’s Webfishing is just what the doctor ordered.

A multiplayer online casual fishing game, the chance to take it slow, chillax, and make friends is today’s catch of the day.

There are nearly 100 different creatures to catch, and players can upgrade and customize their fisherman along the way as they make friends.

Webfishing is available for the PC.

Mouthwashing

Wrong Organ and CRITICAL RELFEX’s first-person horror title Mouthwashing promised “extreme violence, gore, mutilation, and worse on PSX-style characters” – and it absolutely delivered.

Still not sold?

This title succinctly presents a tale aboard the interstellar Pony Express Tulpar freighter where Murphy’s Law is alive and well. Featuring a crew of five, players will get a chance to know their weaknesses before too long, with desperation and emotions running hot.

While it can be uncomfortable to play at times, Mouthwashing leaves a lasting impact that horror fans – or even those looking for a captivating tale – will absolutely devour.

“Despite Mouthwashing’s unsettling atmosphere, this immersive tale will make you want to take responsibility for the Tulpar – just make sure to approach with a fresh, open mind.” – Casey Scheld, Mouthwashing Review

Mouthwashing is available for the PC.

Grapple Dogs: Cosmic Canines

Medallion Games and Super Rare Originals’ Grapple Dogs: Cosmic Canines entered the multiverse of madness with Grapple Dogs: Cosmic Canines, delivering a standout platforming experience in 2024.

Not only do Pablo and newcomer Luna have the proper equipment for the job, each of Grapple Dogs: Cosmic Canines’ varied stages flow incredibly well. Learning each of its mechanics as players set out to stop Vyr keeps things fresh, and power-ups like the Electro Pulse add even more multiverse wrinkles we just couldn’t get enough of.

Of course, Grapple Dogs: Cosmic Canines truly shines with its sheer charm, warming our jaded hearts and giving us hope for creativity and passion in the gaming space! The dad jokes were just an added perk.

“Grapple Dogs: Cosmic Canines is twice as nice, with pixel-perfect physics between two playable characters. While most enemies don’t put up much of a fight, Grapple Dogs: Cosmic Canines channels the best platformers for a dog-gone good time.” – Casey Scheld, Grapple Dogs: Cosmic Canines Review

Grapple Dogs: Cosmic Canines is out for the Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

The Plucky Squire

Oozing creativity and charm on literally every in-game page, All Possible Futures and Devolver Digital’s The Plucky Squire was a real page-turner.

(We’re not done with the dad jokes just yet!)

The adventures of Jot and his friends throughout a storybook that is filled with so much charm and care as we took on the malevolent Humgrump.

Featuring a mix between 2D and 3D worlds, The Plucky Squire kept us captivated with puzzle solving, boxing badgers, jetpacks, and other neat twists we won’t spoil.

“The Plucky Squire oozes creativity and charm on every page. It stands aside Balatro and Animal Well as one of the best indie games of the year.” – Johnny Hurricane, The Plucky Squire Review

The Plucky Squire is available for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
