GDC 2025 Featuring Like a Dragon and Metaphor: ReFantazio Lectures

Next month’s Game Developers Conference 2025 event in San Francisco will pay host to three lectures around both Metaphor: ReFantazio and Like a Dragon.

Scheduled for March 20 at 9:30am PT, Developing ‘Metaphor: ReFantazio’ and the Potential of RPG Command Battle Systems will feature Atlus Lead Battle Planner Kenichi Goto as they explore how the setudios’ deep experience with “command RPGs” helps to contribute to the design of Metaphor: ReFantazio’s combat systems.

Looking for more insights into Metaphor: ReFantazio’s design process? From ‘Persona’ to ‘Metaphor: ReFantazio’: Creating a Visual Identity for a New Series on March 20 at 3:30pm PT willf feature Lead Interface Designer Koji Ise. He will discuss the methods used to define the UI art style in Metaphor: ReFantazio, providing concrete examples.

Finally, The Secret to Narrative-Driven and Short-Term Development in ‘Like a Dragon’ on March 21 will feature SEGA’s Chief Director and Producer Ryosuke Horii Design Manager, 1st Business Unit Eiji Hamatsu. Both will discuss the benefits behind creating a series and what is necessary for team building that achieves high results.

The Game Developers Conference 2025 will be held at San Francisco’s Moscone Convention Center from March 17 to March 21.
