FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH Battle Director GDC 2025 Panel Announced

The team at SQUARE ENIX announced that Teruki Endo, Battle Director for the FINAL FANTASY VII remake project, will host a game design panel during the 2025 Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco, CA this March.
Titled The Challenges in Developing an Innovative Battle System for ‘Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth, this panel will go in-depth into the challenges involved in designing an innovative battle system for the FINAL FANTASY VII remake project.
Attendees will be able to learn about the development team’s mindset and process for updating the formerly turn-based battle system to incorporate more action and strategic elements.
GDC 2025 attendees that have the All Access Pass and Core Pass can attend the panel. The team states this panel is “open to game designers with experience in creating games with battle elements, regardless of years of experience. There is no prerequisite knowledge required.”
Note that the date and time the GDC panel will be announced closer to GDC, which takes place at San Francisco’s Moscone Convention Center from March 17 – 21.
