Out of Time Preview – Embrace the Chaos

Collapsing and colliding timelines await in the not too distant future with Manticore Games’ upcoming co-op roguelike Out of Time on September 25.
Gamers Heroes recently joined the development team at Manticore Games to see how chaos reigns throughout Out of Time’s 3D multiplayer roguelike action – learn more with our preview.
Out of Time Preview – Embrace the Chaos
A premium 3D multiplayer roguelike release, variety is the spice of life in Out of Time with past, present, and future colliding in perfect chaos. Where players are going, players don’t need classes.
That’s so yesterday.
Rather, Out of Time features a gear-based system where everything has its own minigame and there are no locked roles.
From topsy-turvy air hockey action to tower defense, different genres are present and accounted for. No need to dust off that vintage Guitar Hero controller – Out of Time happily provides rhythm-based gameplay with a handy-dandy electric guitar that spits hellfire.
On that note, Out of Time prides itself on its intuitiveness. While newcomers might feel like their days are numbered, what originally might seem overwhelming quickly becomes second nature before too long. There’s even a minigame system that dishes out those good vibes!
While Out of Time will support solo play, this title truly thrives when others join into the fray for camaraderie.

A key element of Out of Time’s multiplayer play comes in the form of its Tether System (above). One typically thinks of the tank, healer, and DPS holy trinity when it comes to some jolly good cooperation, but Out of Time keeps things interesting by rewarding proximity with shared buffs, healing, and stats.
Seeing Out of Time’s Tether system play out as the Manticore Games team clear threats in record time – all while effortlessly tackling a boss mid-conversation – goes to show how teamwork makes the dream work.
And that’s what has ultimately got us excited for Out of Time – the human element.
Looking back over the years, our best gameplay moments came from shared gameplay experiences. Out of Time taps into that by letting players come as they are and play their way – complete with friends in tow.
Out of Time’s 3D roguelike action is poised to do more than just bring different eras together – it’s also looking to bring different gaming verticals together for a shared experience that anyone can enjoy.
Pre-orders and wishlists for Out of Time are now open via its official Epic Games Store page ahead of its September 25 release date.
Those that pre-order Out of Time can get themselves The Temporal Disaster Pack, which features three exclusive time-twisted mounts, three exclusive hero emotes, and four exclusive avatars.
