NBA 2K26 Preview – Ball Over Everything

Powered by ProPLAY, 2K Games and Visual Concepts have listened to community feedback and are hitting the court in style with the upcoming release of NBA 2K26.
Set to release early next month, Gamers Heroes recently got a chance to attend a press conference around NBA 2K26 and see how it’s Ball Over Everything – learn more with our preview.
NBA 2K26 Preview – Ball Over Everything
Found in NBA 2K26 on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, The City welcomes players with open arms.
Designed to be more intimate and accessible than its predecessor, The City in NBA 2K26 has been designed to include all points of interest to be well within reach. This, in turn, ensures that NBA 2K26 players will be able to get on the court significantly faster. The team listened to community feedback, looking to provide a more grounded experience.
In addition, NBA 2K26 will also feature a number of new Park designs that have been designed around more natural and grounded scenery. Based on community feedback, these courts have been designed to be like the ones found in real life, with new lighting improvements and a fixed time-of-day setting out to reduce harsh shade and sunlight.
Starting with Skyline Park, there will be a new park every season. For those on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, expect smooth 60 frames per second support.
When it comes to MyTEAM in NBA 2K26, this release will feature full WNBA integration into all MyTEAM modes and features. Attributes and Badges will function identically, and any team and era can mix and match. Want to play on the court with Shaq? Not only can you do so, NBA 2K26 will also feature recorded commentary for NBA and WNBA side by side.
Whether in The City, MyTEAM, or beyond, everything in NBA 2K26 will be powered by its cutting-edge Motion Engine. Utilizing ProPLAY, machine learning, pose matching, and real NBA footage, this serves as the biggest change to player movement since NBA 2K21.
Speaking of previous entries, Rhythm Shooting that provides full control over every aspect of the shot will also make its return in NBA 2K26. Putting skill at the forefront, its Pure Green Shot meter window is set to provide more control for players. This is also on top of advanced controls like no-dip catch and shoots, slow motion Eurosteps, wrap passes, and more.
The team behind NBA 2K26 also spent time refining this title’s Defense. Driven based on physics, there will also be improved shot contest logic and a completely reworked steal system.
Rounding things out in NBA 2K26 are cutting-edge visuals. Player fidelity ensures the title has a balanced, cohesive look, while arena visuals include redesigned lighting and updated floor shaders. There’s even proper arching of the names on each jersey!
Taking community feedback into consideration, NBA 2K26 is looking to provide Ball Over Everything when it launches early next month.
NBA 2K26 will come out for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on September 4. Pre-orders are now open via the official website, with the Leave No Doubt Edition, Superstar Edition, Standard Edition, and WNBA Edition available for purchase.

For those looking to purchase a PlayStation 5, the PlayStation 5 Console – NBA 2K26 Bundle will launch in select markets starting September 5 – learn more via the official PlayStation Blog.
