If you attempt to play multiplayer before doing the campaign, the game warns you about potential spoilers. It also says that each hero is locked behind campaign progress. As such, you need to progress through the main story campaign. At certain points, after completing certain missions, you will unlock a hero. Once you have unlocked the hero, you can then use that hero freely across all modes although some campaign missions are still restricted to specific heroes. <\/p>\n
