For those truly immersed in the Real Bout Fatal Fury universe (another classic – scope our review of the sequel<\/a>!), Kizuna Encounter: Super Tag Battle will have players taking to its fights like a Geese to water. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Players will be able to kick, punch, and launch multi-hit combos as they take part in a number of different bouts. It’s fast, it’s frantic – and it’s fun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While light on characters (we\u2019re talking less than a dozen), Kizuna Encounter: Super Tag Battle provides quality over quantity with fights that taking control of rollerblading Jokers, Hatate karate masters, and others as they make use of both weapons and fists in two-on-two bouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As longtime SNK fans, we do appreciate how boss characters King Leo and Jyazu can be brought into solo bouts with this release. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While modern games are no doublt versed in Capcom\u2019s Versus series and Bandai Namco’s double dose of Tekken Tag Tournaments, Kizuna Encounter: Super Tag Battle’s two-on-two fights are a genre pioneer.

So much so that Kizuna Encounters highlights it in the title name!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On that note, Kizuna Encounter: Super Tag Battle fourth button allows one to tag in their confidant. Timing – along with positioning in one’s respective Tag Zone – adds an extra element of strategy we love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those who make a second home in the lab, Kizuna Encounter: Super Tag Battle features a truly impressive Practice Mode that let players adjust hitboxes, speed, and a wealth of other factors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, training and execution are miles apart\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thankfully, this release of Kizuna Encounter: Super Tag Battle understood the assignment, with a robust online mode that supports the Rollback Netcode gold standard fighters crave. With support for simultaneous 4-player battles, every frame has been cherished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rather take it offline? Kizuna Encounter: Super Tag Battle also supports up to four players in its local support. There\u2019s also a solid Gallery and Jukebox for those who want to immerse themselves in this title\u2019s history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
