Coming back for a second round, the fighting wizards at Capcom are partying like it’s 2001 with the release of Capcom Fighting Collection 2.

Featuring rival bouts, rival schools, and fisticuffs a-plenty, does this collection provide the match of the millennium?

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 Review

We’ll cut to the chase from the offset: Capcom Fighting Collection 2 features some of the best Capcom fighters ever made.

From newcomers to World Warriors to fans of the big red SNK MVS cabinet, Capcom Fighting Collection 2 has mass appeal.

Somewhat new to the fighting game genre and craving more casual fun? Power Stone and Power Stone 2 feature easy-to-learn arena action with flashy moves, items, and constantly changing conditions.

Feel like truly immerse yourself in the most intricate of mechanics? Capcom vs. SNK 2 (below) features six different “Grooves” that significantly change gameplay mechanics, along with dozens of fighters that will let you crush the competition. Pulling off the perfect short hop and landing a Finest KO that sets the screen ablaze never gets old.

Don’t know what you feel like playing? Even titles like the three-on-three high school fighter Project Justice let players dish out, uh, justice as P.E. teachers, biker girls, cheerleaders, and swim meet members. Players will also be able to team up with Team-Up Attacks that leave an impression – and a mark.

For those who want to go even further beyond, Capcom Fighting Collection 2 features an incredible amount of customization.

For instance, one can choose between the English or Japanese versions of each title and can quick save at one’s leisure for when the going gets a little too tough solo – this is a judgment free zone!

Those new to fighters can also play one’s way with one button specials and a robust training mode that is sure to make anybody Evo friendly – there’s still time to train!

Put simply, Capcom Fighting Collection 2 is a true love letter to the fighting game genre.

Of course, fighting games were meant to be played with others, and Capcom Fighting Collection 2 makes sure the dream match never ends with stellar online support. The support for both Casual and Ranked made sure we were properly equipped as well – still getting up to speed after all these years!

Outside the main fighting of Capcom Fighting Collection 2, there’s also a Gallery feature with hundreds of works (not an exaggeration), along with a music feature packing hundreds of tunes (also not an exaggeration).

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 improves upon perfection, making the finest fighting games ever made even better. Newcomers and veterans alike, get ready for the most exciting battles in history with Capcom Fighting Collection 2.
