Diehard otaku might enjoy the kawaii antics of NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD: Typing of The Net, but everybody else should press F to pay respects to this clumsy multi-genre title.
Whether you’re a newborn zoomer or a 30-year-old boomer, WSS playground’s NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD: Typing of The Net will have players practicing their internet slang in true kawaii fashion. Taking cues from The Typing of the Dead, should keyboard warriors set out to answer this message?
NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD: Typing of The Net Review
Guided by the tippy-typing angel KAngel in a YouTube-style setting, NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD: Typing of The Net has players jotting down what this idol has to say in no time flat to get that sweet, sweet clout.
Know who is anon, or are you more of a filthy casual?
No matter where one stands, KAngel’s got you covered with a number of terms spanning decades of time. Some might feel some cringe fr fr no cap typing out “cheezeburger” and having a kawaii girl squee is delight, but those who have truly immersed themselves in otaku culture will feel right at home in this nerdy homecoming.
However, it’s not enough to recognize otaku culture; one also needs to flex their Internet chops. While the first video starts out simple enough with 4koma and other short words, typing out longer phrases like “It’s more likely than you think” can put people on the spot and be problematic.

However, play through these three YouTube video levels in around 10-15 minutes, and one will realize that (spoiler) this was all a ruse!
Rather, the core gameplay of NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD: Typing of The Net comes when people search for “Endless Nightmare,” which comes up with the main portion of the title – a pixelated side-scrolling platformer.
Armed with a chargeable chainsaw, a throwable knife, a double jump and wall jump, and the chance to level up, a handful of linear stages make up this mode.
Everything from the level design to the enemies of NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD: Typing of The Net’s “Endless Nightmare” mode is fairly rudimentary. While players can ride gusts of wind and climb walls with the aforementioned chainsaw, it ultimately failed to make an impression and stand out.
In addition, the platforming action lacked context for those that have yet to play the main NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD release on Steam (like us). While there are some brief pantomime segments that add some context, but they were ultimately lost on us through its short runtime.
Diehard otaku might enjoy the kawaii antics of NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD: Typing of The Net, but everybody else should press F to pay respects to this clumsy multi-genre title.
