We recently joined Crystal Dynamics’ Head of Studio Scot Amos and Game Director Will Kerslake to immerse ourselves regarding Lara Croft’s latest escapades – learn more with our preview.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis and Tomb Raider: Catalyst Preview
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
Everything old will be new again with the release of Amazon Game Studios, Crystal Dynamics, and Flying Wild Hog’s Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis – a title that touches upon the adventure that started it all.
Don’t be fooled thinking that Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is a mere remake; with words like remaster and re-envisioning being used, this title is looking to capture the spirit of the 1996 classic while still remaining cutting-edge in the same breath.
On that note, both cameras and control have been updated in Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, with the title still striving to capture the same feeling we all got from booting up the original PlayStation 1 Tomb Raider release on the PlayStation (remember when?).
And yes, Tomb Raider’s iconic T-Rex is present and accounted for in Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis.
Powered by Unreal Engine 5, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is set to masterfully balance innovation while still capturing that “core memory” element that Pixar’s Inside Out taught us so well.
Fans won’t have to wait too long to play Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis – Lara Croft’s reimagined adventure will make its way to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and the PC via Steam in 2026.
Tomb Raider: Catalyst
Meanwhile, Tomb Raider: Catalyst is set to continue Lara Croft’s journey in a canon adventure that will take Lara Croft to Northern India.
Poised to deliver the largest Tomb Raider world yet, Tomb Raider: Catalyst will have Lara Croft traversing a landscape filled of secrets. On that note, Tomb Raider: Catalyst has been in development by Crystal Dynamics since their partnership with Amazon Game Studios was originally announced back in 2022!
True to its namesake, each of Tomb Raider: Catalyst’s tombs are packed with ancient mysteries and ancient puzzles alike – all powered by Unreal Engine 5.
Tomb Raider: Catalyst is set to release for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam in 2027.
No matter which Tomb Raider title one chooses (why not both?), iconic Voice Actress Alix Wilton Regan will be leading the charge as the protagonist Lara Croft in both releases.
Appearing in The Wife, The Brave, and CD PROJEKT RED’s Cyberpunk 2077, Alix Wilton Regan is a longtime fan of the Tomb Raider series, with her wit, charm, charisma, confidence, and depth of emotionality sealing the deal.
