Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage brings decades of excellence to the ring, neatly wrapped up in three little buttons. For those looking for more training options, this release is just the thing for those looking to hone their craft.
Hot off the heels of their successful Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. release (which we loved!), Ryu ga Gotoku Studio and SEGA are back for another round with the free expansion Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage.
Should players enter the World Stage in this three-button fighter, or is this title a knucklehead?
Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage Review
First thing’s first – if you’ve already got Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. in your library, you’ll be upgraded to World Stage at no additional charge!
The original Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. release is already stellar, with a flow to each battle and wildly different fighting styles amidst its diverse cast.
From Canadian Wrestlers like Wolf Hawkfield to Mexican Luchadors like El Blaze, mastering its roster alongside its spatial awareness, staggers, and Offensive Moves never gets old.
So what’s new in World Stage compared to vanilla Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O.?
For one, those flying solo Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage will be able to take on a wealth of content with its new single-player World Stage Mode.

As players live up to its title and travel the globe, they’ll be able to take on a number of foes as they take part in a massive tournament.
Don’t think you can cheese one’s opponent, however; Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage features a number of CPU opponents that are based on world-renowned players.
For those that have had their butts handed to them by yet another crafty Eileen player (watch out for that Monkey-Style Kung Fu!), Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage also pays host to a robust Training Mode.
While a three-button setup might seem overly simplistic, Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage proves that the devil is in the details. Figuring out when to punch, kick, block, or pause could very well mean the difference between pulling off Akira Yuki’s one-frame moves and eating a knuckle sandwich.
Rather take the fight to the online masses? Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage’s one-two punch of Rollback Netcode and cross-platform support means that players will always be ready for the next battle, no matter the platform.

Finally, while a small touch, Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage has the metallic Dural (above) making her debut as a playable character! For those that like to throw a curveball at their opponents, this is the perfect opportunity to catch them off guard.
Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage brings decades of excellence to the ring, neatly wrapped up in three little buttons. For those looking for more training options, this release is just the thing for those looking to hone their craft.
