Denshattack! Preview – Grind Trains in a Colorful Japanese Dystopia!

While this title’s world is known for its jammed cities and biodomes, Denshattack! instead focuses on those who remained outside – folks like the ramen delivery driver Emi.

Living her best life, Emi meets Fernando, who gets her engaged with the Denshattackers! – a group that grinds across this Japanese dystopia to be the very best (like no one ever was).

Enter Denshattack! and its core gameplay loop. One’s speedy train isn’t just for carrying ramen – it can brake, drift, and fly through the air with relative ease.

But as the old saying goes, it’s about the journey, not the destination – and Denshattack! provides quite the journey.

From timing one’s drift meter to hit that sweet spot to performing an air stomp, Denshattack!’s flow will always keep players on high alert.

Of course, Denshattack! also crosses genres, tapping into fighting game motions. For those that’ve thrown a Hadouken, circular motions and even three-quarter motions will let players flip, flop, and ultimately show the competition how it’s done.

There’s a trick to it, after all.

While we used a controller for this preview session, we’d imagine a fight stick with an octagonal gate is the key to nailing a high ranking. Forcing players to vary things up to prevent stale tricks, precision and variety are the key to mastering Denshattack!

On that note, Denshattack! does feature healthy trial and error elements. This isn’t a one-and-done title; knowing when to zig, when to zag, and when to time the perfect jump in its speedy world requires repetition.

In a way, Denshattack! channels the old-school arcade spirit we know and love. Taking on Dares, learning where to go, and even boarding a giant Ferris wheel to beat the competition made eager to try, try again.

Featuring raw thrills, Denshattack!’s Japanese dystopia is the perfect testing grounds for flipping, tricking, and grinding with the best of them.

With the full release planned for this Spring, one can check out the Denshattack! demo via its official Steam page.

Denshattack! will also release for PlayStation.
