Australia Did It Preview – Rami Ismail’s Reverse Bullet-Hell Tower Defense on Rails!

After the Atlantic Ocean was evaporated by a mysterious event (hate when that happens…), Australia Did It will transport players to a world riddled with monsters and war machines alike.

Enter Australia Did It’s turn-based strategy elements, which has players strategically deploying and positioning units (over 30 in all!) against said threats before exiting stage left on a train after a set number of turns.

Utilizing a strategic turn-based system, Australia Did It truly shines when merging units together based on their skill level.

Want to merge poison damage with a gunslinger? You got it. Want a rocket launcher that heals units? That’ll do!

There are over 1,500 unit combinations, and variety is truly the spice of life in Australia Did It.

“I kind of feel like merge gameplay is a genre, but it deserves to be a mechanic!

It’s so versatile; there’s so much you can do with it.

When we put all that together and built the first prototype of Australia Did It, it was immediately clear how much curiosity and how much fun we had by building combinations.” – Rami Ismail

When all else fails, players will also be able to merge units and make use of a belt for added mobility to line things up just right.

However, the Mercenaries of Australia Did It will also make their escape with a train – and that’s where players will be blessed with the opportunity to mow down thousands in dazzling chaos.

When the train leaves the station, Australia Did will let players engage in intense on-rail battles that channel the raw energy found in bullet hells.

Players will also be able to diversify their runs in Australia Did It with a number of Reward Cards that grant players perks and boosts alike.

The end result? A game where no two runs are the same – and that’s just the way we like it.

“I’ve always been excited about the concept of a new game, and this was an amazing opportunity just to make something weird, backed by a publisher that seemed excited about doing something weird.

I’m really happy to say that they put their money where their mouth was, and have backed me through the development of this incredibly odd game.” – Rami Ismail

With openings available daily and unexpectedly, Australia Did It keeps things fresh with nearly endless strategic options and creativity to spare.
