Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Blue Mary Preview – A True S-Class Woman!

Hitting the beat back in 95, Blue Mary is making her way to SNK’s Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves as part of Season Pass 2 on March 26.
Specializing in speed and Sambo, learn more about this fan-favorite fighter with our preview…
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Blue Mary Preview – A True S-Class Woman!
First appearing in 1995’s FATAL FURY 3: Road to the Final Victory (remember when?), Blue Mary has grappled the hearts of many since then – we loved her in The King of Fighters ‘98 Ultimate Match Final Edition ourselves!
On that note, Blue Mary returns to South Town in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, living up to her proud title as an S-Class Woman via her sheer Sambo strength
Let’s just say her grapple-heavy moveset found in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is specially made for crushing joints.
Breaking defenses is Blue Mary’s bread and butter, with a number of moves and follow-up options that properly punish. From timing kicks just right or performing a Straight Slicer, feigns and counterattacks play a big part in her repertoire.
Don’t think Blue Mary is a slow character in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, however; there’s a reason “Quick” is listed multiple times throughout her moveset.
Rather, Blue Mary truly excels when tripping up opponents. When utilizing a Quick Step, Quick Counter, a Quick Fall, a Quick Slicer, or even a Quick Arrow (we told ya!), getting comfortable with her chains and knowing how to read one’s opponent lets players close the gap and hit hard in turn.
While she did appear in The King of Fighters XV (another excellent fighter that rightfully earned a 90/100 from us), Blue Mary keeps things unique in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.
When tapping into Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves’ signature S.P.G. system, players can unleash her emotion, energy, and experience with M. Sky Rose for the ultimate form of Commando Sambo – just make sure the timing is right!
Focusing on speed and Sambo, Blue Mary’s grappling moveset in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves proudly demonstrates the sheer power of a good punish – even decades later.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via both Steam and the Epic Games Store).
