There are a couple of ways to get Fire resist. The first is to head here on the map and get the helmet.
The Vah Rudania Divine Helm is in a cave near there and with it on you will gain Flame Guard. With the helm on you can travel throughout Death Mountain without much issue. You can upgrade it for more defense as well.
You can also catch fire proof lizards and combine them with chu chu jelly to make elixirs. These only last for a certain amount of time, so try to make multiple if you want to go that route. Even if you don’t want to you can sell the Elixirs after you get the helmet from the cave.
